The Power of Helping

Deep down I believe everyone wants to help someone. Which is a good thing, because everyone needs help at one time or another throughout their lives. But there is a lot of power in helping, for the one requesting the help and the one providing it.

Sign of Strength
Sometimes though, pride gets in the way and they are afraid to ask for it. People think asking for help is a weakness. When it is actually a strength. Because you are acknowledging something you’re struggling with or can’t do. And instead of giving up, you’re finding a way to get it done.

Two-way Street
Asking for help is helping someone else as well, since people get fulfilled by being able to assist others in a positive way. I think if more people saw it like that, it would change things. People would be more willing to ask for assistance since they could see it as a two-way street that both the helper and requestor are benefitting. Short and simple, helping others makes you feel good.
