Being Thankful

As my family and I were celebrating Christmas last week, we watched It’s a Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. It is a classic and if you’ve never seen it, I urge you to watch it soon. The reminder I always get from the movie is to celebrate what you have because it is greater than what you realize. Too often, we focus on what we don’t have or even worst, compare it to what others have. Which causes us to underestimate our self-worth.

A key element to happiness is appreciating all you have. When you take a good look at yourself and your “possessions”, it will be greater than you think. I suggest doing the following each day:

  • List three things you did well or positive outcomes from the day
  • Based on your, day, what do you want to improve
  • What is one thing you can do, that will lead to your desiered improvement

Listing these things daily will help in a greater appreciation of yourself and life in general.
